April 19, 2023 Filing 19 MINUTE entry before the Honorable M. David Weisman: Magistrate Status hearing held. As an initial matter, the Court noted that defendant needs to supplement the record as to jurisdiction. Henderson ex rel. Henderson v. Shinseki, 562 U.S. 428, 434 (2011) ("[F]ederal courts have an independent obligation to ensure that they do not exceed the scope of their jurisdiction, and therefore they must raise and decide jurisdictional questions that the parties either overlook or elect not to press."). Here, defendant Total Airport Services, LLC must advise the Court of all members of the LLC and their respective states of citizenship to confirm diversity jurisdiction. Wise v. Wachovia Sec., LLC, 450 F.3d 265, 267 (7th Cir. 2006) ("The citizenship for diversity purposes of a limited liability company... is the citizenship of each of its members."). Defendant may either amend the Notification of Affiliates at ECF 10 or file a separate jurisdictional status report with the necessary information. Defendant must make the appropriate jurisdictional filing by 4/28/23. As to discovery, the Court adopted the following dates from the parties' joint status report #15 : Rule 26(a)(1) disclosures to be made by 5/4/23; fact discovery to close on 12/8/23. Additionally, the parties must issue written discovery requests by 5/19/23.
