The motion does not indicate whether it is agreed to or opposed by Plaintiff. Regardless of Plaintiff's position, the Court finds that Defendants' failure to answer or otherwise plead by their deadline was due to excusable neglect, in light of counsel's statement that the failure was a mistake driven by counsel's trial schedule. The Court therefore finds good cause to grant Defendants' requested extension of 21 days to answer or otherwise plead. In light of the upcoming July 4 holiday, Defendants' deadline to answer or otherwise plead is extended until July 5, 2023. Going forward the parties should be proactive and file requests for extension of time in advance of court deadlines, rather than waiting until after those deadlines have expired. Further, counsel is required to comply with the undersigned's standing orders, which require that all motions indicate whether they are agreed to or opposed, which means that counsel must allow time to meet and confer with opposing counsel to determine their position prior to filing a motion.
