July 17, 2023 Opinion or Order Filing 8 ORDER: Petitioner, Anson Paape, seeks a writ of habeas corpus under 28 U.S.C. 2254 and challenges his DuPage County conviction of aggravated battery. He seeks leave to proceed without payment of the $5.00 filing fee. But his trust account statement shows that he has an ability to pay the filing fee,1 so the Court denies his application to proceed in forma pauperis #6 . He must pay the $5.00 filing fee to proceed with this case, which he may do by check or money order made payable to Clerk, United States District Court, Northern District of Illinois. Paape's failure to comply with this order by August 14, 2023, will result in summary dismissal of this habeas action without prejudice. See LR 3.3(f). Signed by the Honorable Matthew F.
