However, plaintiff cannot dictate how this Court is to run its courtroom as the management of the court is in the discretion of the judge. Mailed notice. (ym)

August 16, 2023 Filing 21 MINUTE entry before the Honorable Sharon Johnson Coleman: Plaintiff's motion #20 to reconsider this Court's Order #19 denying Plaintiff's previous motion to disqualify the Court from hearing this case is denied. A court will grant a motion for reconsideration when: (1) the court "has patently misunderstood a party"; (2) the court "has made a decision outside the adversarial issues presented to the court by the parties"; (3) the court "has made an error not of reasoning but of apprehension"; (4) "there has been a controlling or significant change in the law since the submission of the issue to the court"; or (5) "there has been a controlling or significant change in the facts since the submission of the issue to the court." Bank of Waunakee v. Rochester Cheese Sales Inc., 906 F.2d 1185, 1191 (7th Cir. 1990) (internal citation omitted). Granting of such motions is "rare." Id. Plaintiff's motion raises many of the same arguments as his previous motion, which this Court denied. Plaintiff does not allege a significant change in law or facts, nor that this Court has misunderstood or failed to apprehend him. His motion is accordingly denied. In-person status hearing set for 8/18/2023 at 10:30 AM to stand. Mailed notice. (ym)

August 8, 2023 Opinion or Order Filing 19 ORDER: Plaintiff Thaddeus Joseph Beaulieu brings various claims against Facebook, Inc. ("Facebook") primarily concerning the alleged discrimination he encountered during his use of the social media platform. Related to these claims, Beaulieu alleges that members of the LGBTQ+ community harassed and bullied him on Facebook, "mocking the religion and Lord and Savior of the Plaintiff." (Dkt. 1, at 4.) Beaulieu now moves to disqualify the Court from hearing this case under 28 U.S.C. 455(a) and 455(b)(1). (Dkt. 16.) For the reasons in the Order, the motion is denied. Signed by the Honorable Sharon Johnson Coleman on 8/8/2023. Mailed notice. (ym)
August 4, 2023 Filing 18 CIVIL Cover Sheet. (jh, )
August 4, 2023 Filing 17 EXHIBITS by Plaintiff Thaddeus Joseph Beaulieu. (jh, )
August 4, 2023 Filing 16 MOTION/PETITION for recusal and substitution of Judge for right/cause by Plaintiff Thaddeus Joseph Beaulieu. (jh, )
July 26, 2023 Filing 15 MINUTE entry before the Honorable Sharon Johnson Coleman: Plaintiff's motion to reconsider this Court's order denying his motion to seal case and setting hearing in the matter #14 is denied. Again, Plaintiff's complaint does not contain the kind of sensitive medical information that might require protection from public disclosure. See, e.g., Mitze v. Saul, 968 F.3d 689, 69293 (7th Cir. 2020) (describing the "very few categories" where confidentiality is appropriate). The complaint contains only broad descriptions of the kinds of injuries Plaintiff allegedly suffered from Defendant's conductsuch as migraine headaches, eye pain, back and hip pain, depression, anxiety, etc. The generic reference to these conditions does not require placing the complaint under seal, let alone sealing the case in its entirety. To the extent Plaintiff moves this Court to cease its subject matter jurisdiction inquiry, the motion is denied and the in-person hearing on 8/18/2023 at 10:30 a.m. stands. Mailed notice. (ym)
July 24, 2023 Filing 14 MOTION by Plaintiff Thaddeus Joseph Beaulieu to reconsider and seal case, documents, and all hearings/hearing on 7/21/2023. (jh, )
July 21, 2023 Filing 13 MINUTE entry before the Honorable Sharon Johnson Coleman: Status hearing held 07/21/2023. As represented in his motion to appear virtually for all court hearings #9 , Plaintiff is now "living out of the Country." Plaintiff confirmed that he appeared telephonically for today's status from the Dominican Republic, where he resides with his wife. As such, the Court questions whether there is subject matter jurisdiction in this case. An in-person hearing is scheduled for 8/18//2023 at 10:30 a.m., at which time Plaintiff will testify about the details necessary to determine his domicile, including his physical, social, economic, and family ties to the Dominican Republic. Since this morning's hearing, the Court has received Plaintiff's motion to seal this case, documents, and all hearings #12 . "Documents that affect the disposition of federal litigation are presumptively open to public view unless a statute, rule, or privilege justifies confidentiality." In re Specht, 622 F.3d 697, 701 (7th Cir. 2010). Plaintiff, without explanation, broadly states that HIPPA rules require that all hearings and documents in this negligence and breach of contract case against Facebook be placed under seal. Plaintiff has not identified any specific consideration that would justify sealing any aspect of this case. Motion denied. Mailed notice. (ym)
July 20, 2023 Filing 12 MOTION by Plaintiff Thaddeus Joseph Beaulieu to seal case, documents, and all hearings/hearing on 7/21/2023. (jj, )
July 7, 2023 Filing 11 MINUTE entry before the Honorable Sharon Johnson Coleman: Plaintiff's motion for leave to appear via phone #9 is granted in part and denied in part. Plaintiff is permitted to appear by telephone for presentment of his application for leave to proceed in forma pauperis on 7/21/2023 at 10:30 a.m. only. Because the Court requires his telephonic appearance before ruling on Plaintiff's IFP petition, Plaintiff's motion to grant fee waiver by precedent #10 is denied. To join the 7/21/2023 status conference by phone, dial (877)336-1829 and enter access code 5205245. Members of the public and media will be able to call in to listen to this hearing. Persons granted remote access to proceedings are reminded of the general prohibition against photographing, recording, and rebroadcasting of court proceedings. Violation of these prohibitions may result in sanctions, including removal of court issued media credentials, restricted entry to future hearings, denial of entry to future hearings, or any other sanctions deemed necessary by the Court. Mailed notice. (ym,)
