Filing 7 ORDER: The Court denies Plaintiff's renewed application for leave to proceed in forma pauperis #6 for the reasons discussed below. Plaintiff must pay the full statutory filing fee of $402.00 or show good cause in writing why he should not be required to prepay the fee. He may pay by check or money order payable to Clerk, United States District Court. He should mail payment to Clerk, United States District Court, 219 South Dearborn Street, Chicago, Illinois 60604, attn: Cashier's Desk. Failure to comply by February 9, 2024, will result in summary dismissal of this case. The Court denies Plaintiff's motion for attorney representation #4 because he did not demonstrate financial eligibility for court-recruited counsel, see Brown v. United States, 737 F. App'x 777, 781 (7th Cir. 2018) (explaining that discretion to recruit counsel is reserved for indigent litigants), or a reasonable attempt to obtain counsel on his own, see Russell v. Bukowski, 608 F. App'x 426, 428 (7th Cir. 2015) ("[B]efore a district court is required to consider recruiting counsel to assist a litigant in a civil case, the litigant must make a reasonable attempt to secure counsel for himself."). The Court defers consideration of Plaintiff's complaint under 28 U.S.C. 1915A until after he has complied with this order. Signed by the Honorable John J. Tharp, Jr on 12/22/2023: Mailed notice (daj, ) |
