ORDER: The Court has learned through returned mail on the docket #6 that Plaintiff no longer resides at the Cook County Jail. Plaintiff is directed to update his address by 1/19/2024 if he wants to proceed with this case. Plaintiff's failure to comply with this Order will result in summary dismissal of this case. See Dietz v. Bouldin, 579 U.S. 40, 47 (2016) ("district courts have the inherent authority to manage their dockets and courtrooms with a view toward the efficient and expedient resolution of cases"); Ball v. City of Chicago, 2 F.3d 752, 756 (7th Cir. 1993) (stating that the district judge may dismiss a case for failure to prosecute where "an unrepresented plaintiff changed his address and did not give the court his new one"). ORDER: Plaintiff's application for leave to proceed in forma pauperis #3 is granted. The Court waives the initial partial filing fee and orders the trust fund officer at Plaintiff's place of incarceration make monthly deductions in accordance with this Order. The Court directs the Clerk of Court to send (electronically if possible) a copy of this Order to the trust fund officer at Plaintiff's current place of incarceration and to the Court's Fiscal Department. Summons, however, shall not issue. Plaintiff's complaint is dismissed without prejudice for failure to state a federal claim. If Plaintiff believes he can submit a proposed amended complaint consistent with this order, he may do so by January 12, 2024. Failure to submit a proposed amended complaint by that date will result in entry of judgment against Plaintiff. Plaintiff also must promptly submit a change-ofaddress notification if he is transferred to another facility or released. If Plaintiff fails to keep the Court informed of his address, this action will be subject to dismissal. Plaintiff's motion for attorney representation #4 is denied without prejudice.
