Date Filed Document Text
January 2, 2024 Filing 9 MINUTE entry before the Honorable Sharon Johnson Coleman: Plaintiff Diva Sykes filed a complaint against Defendant Public Storage for depriving her of her constitutional rights by "withholding her personal property" and "refusing to release her belongings." Because the Court can review a pro se plaintiff's claims to determine whether the action she alleges is frivolous or malicious or fails to state a claim on which relief may be granted, the Court dismisses Sykes's complaint. See 28 U.S.C. 1915(e)(2)(B)(i)- (ii). It is unclear to the Court, without more information, what civil right Sykes asserts Public Storage violated. Consequently, the Court denies Sykes's in forma pauperis application without prejudice. Sykes has until February 1, 2024, to amend her complaint and cure its deficiencies. Mailed notice. (ym)
