| Filing 11 MINUTE entry before the Honorable John J. Tharp, Jr:Plaintiff's motions for attorney representation #4 #7 are denied without prejudice. The plaintiff has not provided evidence that (1) she employed reasonably diligent efforts to secure counsel and (2) she cannot competently litigate the case herself per Pruitt v. Mote, 503 F.3d 647 (7th Cir. 2007) (en banc). As to the former, the plaintiff has attempted to contact only two law firms, both of which were unable to take her case. That is not adequate diligence; when a firm declines representation, a reasonably diligent plaintiff would attempt to find different counsel beyond the two firms she contacted. As to the latter requirement, the plaintiff has not presented any evidence to suggest that she cannot competently litigate the case herself. The plaintiff has some college education, and her complaint presents a straightforward claim of employment discrimination.
