Filing 10 ORDER: The plaintiff's application for leave to proceed in forma pauperis #4 is denied. The plaintiff's application indicates a monthly household take-home pay of $4,500; therefore, the plaintiff is not indigent, and waiver of the filing fee is not warranted. Accordingly, by 1/23/2024, the plaintiff is directed to pay the full statutory filing fee of $402.00. Failure to pay the statutory fee will result in summary dismissal of this case. The plaintiff's motion for attorney representation #5 is also denied for lack of indigency. In addition, the plaintiff has not demonstrated that he has diligently sought counsel on his own, nor has he provided evidence that he cannot competently litigate the case himself per Pruitt v. Mote, 503 F.3d 647 (7th Cir. 2007) (en banc). The motion suggests that the plaintiff, as a high school graduate, is literate and capable of representing himself. Signed by the Honorable John J. Tharp, Jr on 1/3/2024: Mailed notice (daj, ) |
