Filing 11 MINUTE entry before the Honorable Sharon Johnson Coleman: After screening pro se Plaintiff's complaint under 28 U.S.C. 1915(e)(2), the Court dismisses this lawsuit for lack of jurisdiction and failure to state a claim. Plaintiff is suing the United States Postal Service, alleging that he mailed two packages that never arrived at their destination, that the packages were treated improperly, and that he incurred a grand total of $26.25 in fees as well as emotional distress in the process. "Federal courts are courts of limited jurisdiction." United States v. Wahi, 850 F.3d 296, 299 (7th Cir. 2017) (citation omitted); see 28 U.S.C. 1331 (requirements for federal question jurisdiction.) Here, Plaintiff has failed to allege a violation of federal law or state a cause of action. Accordingly, Plaintiff's complaint is dismissed without prejudice. Plaintiff has 30 days to correct the deficiencies in his complaint; otherwise, his case will be terminated. Status hearing set for 3/18/2024 is stricken. Mailed notice. (ym) |
