Filing 9 MINUTE entry before the Honorable Charles P. Kocoras: Plaintiff Diahann Grasty initiated this case by filing a state court form entitled "Notice of Filing to Register a Foreign Judgment." Ms. Grasty appears to be trying to register a foreign state court judgment that was entered by the Court of Common Pleas of Montgomery County, Pennsylvania on April 27, 2000. This must be done in state court. See 735 ILCS 5/12-652(a) ("A copy of any foreign judgment authenticated in accordance with the acts of Congress or the statutes of this State may be filed in the office of the circuit court for any county of this State."). Because there is nothing for the Court to adjudicate, this case is dismissed. Application for leave to proceed in forma pauperis #8 is denied as moot. The Clerk is directed to terminate the case. Mailed notice. (sxh, ) |
