In short, the plaintiff has not shown irreparable harm. The plaintiff referenced harm to its good will as one form of irreparable harm but could not identify any reports of consumer confusion or any other data concerning the harm to its good will. More importantly, the Court is not convinced that such harms are relevant in a patent infringement case as the concerns addressed by patent laws differ from those addressed by trademark and, to a lesser extent, copyright laws. Further, successful patent infringement cases typically result in damages in the form of lost profits or a reasonable royalty.
