Filing 7 ORDER: On October 22, 2019, the Court dismissed Petitioner's 28 U.S.C. 2241 petition without prejudice to him bringing his claims (alleged beatings by prison officers and deliberate indifference to his knee, foot, neck, and back conditions) in a Bivens v. Six Unknown Named Agents of Fed. Bureau of Narcotics, 403 U.S. 388 (1971), civil rights action. After the Court dismissed this case, Petitioner filed a Motion for Injunctive Relief #6 , which seeks protection from officers harassing him. The Motion is denied. As previously explained, Petitioner's claims belong in a civil rights action and not a petition for habeas corpus relief, which is the vehicle for prisoners to challenge their sentences. Petitioner may have sent his Motion before receiving the Court's October 22, 2019 Order dismissing this case. Although the Court denies the Motion for Injunctive Relief, the Clerk is directed to send this Order and a copy of the Motion #6 to the warden's office at Thomson U.S. Penitentiary to ensure that prison officials are aware of Petitioner's complaints of officers mistreating him. Signed by the Honorable Harry D. Leinenweber on 11/14/2019:mailed notice(pg, ) |
