Filing 7 MOTION by Petitioner Jonathan N. Estes for extension of time (Attachments: #1 Envelope)(jp, ) |
Filing 6 ORDER signed by the Honorable Philip G. Reinhard on 8/24/2020: Petitioner's in forma pauperis (IFP ) application #5 is denied. His prison trust account statement shows that his average daily balance during the past six months was $132.00 and that his average monthly receipt of funds during that period was $161.00. Such funds do not qualify him for IFP status. Even though his balance at the time of he filed his IFP application was less than $5.00, his receipt of funds demonstrates he can afford the $5.00 filing fee. To proceed with this case, petitioner must pay the filing fee by check or money order made payable to the Clerk of Court, United States District Court, Northern District of Illinois by September 23, 2020. Petitioner is advised that his failure to satisfy the filing fee requirement will result in dismissal of this case without prejudice. See N.D. Ill. Local Rule 3.3(f). Mailed notice(sb, ) |
Filing 5 APPLICATION by Petitioner Jonathan N. Estes for leave to proceed in forma pauperis (Attachments: #1 Envelope) (jp, ) |
Filing 4 ORDER signed by the Honorable Philip G. Reinhard on 7/27/2020: Petitioner filed this action without paying the $5.00 filing fee or submitting an in forma pauperis (IFP) application demonstrating his inability to pay. The court acknowledges receipt of his 28 U.S.C. 2241 petition, but the court cannot conduct its initial review of the petition until the filing fee requirement has been satisfied. By August 26, 2020, petitioner must either pay the $5.00 filing fee with a check or money order made payable to the Clerk of Court, United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois or submit a completed IFP application. The Clerk of Court shall send to petitioner an IFP application form. Petitioner's failure to comply with this order will result in summary dismissal of this case without prejudice. See N.D. Ill.
