Filing 16 ORDER; Plaintiff's motion to amend his complaint #12 is denied insofar as it seeks to add exhibits to his previous complaint. To begin with, the complaint Plaintiff wishes to add exhibits to was dismissed on September 23, 2020. (See Dkt. 11.) Moreover, as he has previously been instructed, Plaintiff may not amend his complaint piecemeal. An amended pleading supersedes the original complaint and must stand complete on its own. See Kelley v. Crosfield Catalysts, 135 F.3d 1202, 1204-05 (7th Cir. 1998). As directed in the September 23, 2020 order, if Plaintiff wishes to proceed with this case, he must submit a complete amended complaint that includes all claims and exhibits he wishes the Court to consider and that does not refer to the original complaint. Failure to do so by October 22, 2020, will result in dismissal of this lawsuit. Signed by the Honorable Iain D. Johnston on 10/2/2020: Mailed notice (yxp, ) |
