Date Filed Document Text
October 12, 2022 Filing 6 ENTERED JUDGMENT, Civil case terminated. Mailed notice(yxp, )
October 12, 2022 Filing 5 MINUTE entry before the Honorable Iain D. Johnston: On 9/20/2022, after screening the plaintiff's complaint, the Court explained that it could not discern a plausible claim over which it would have jurisdiction, directed the plaintiff to amend by 10/4/2022, and warned that failure to do so would result in the dismissal of his case. The order also directed the plaintiff to resources for parties representing themselves available on the Northern District of Illinois' website. The clerk mailed that order to the plaintiff at the address he provided on his pro se complaint, and the order was not returned as undeliverable. To date, the plaintiff has not amended. Because the complaint does not state a claim over which the Court can exercise jurisdiction, this complaint is dismissed under 28 U.S.C. 1915(e)(2)(B)(ii), and the motion for leave to proceed in forma pauperis #3 is denied. Civil case terminated. Mailed notice (yxp, )
September 21, 2022 MAILED copy of the Clerk's Notice entry along with the Joint Consent Form to Charles J. Irving. (jp, )
September 20, 2022 Opinion or Order Filing 4 ORDER; Because the Court cannot discern a plausible claim over which it would have jurisdiction, the plaintiff's complaint #1 is dismissed without prejudice. The plaintiff has leave to file an amended complaint to make clear the basis over which this federal court has jurisdiction over his claims. Any amended complaint shall be filed by 10/4/2022. Failure to amend by that date with claims that plausibly allege a basis of federal jurisdiction will result in the termination of this suit. Mr. Irving is advised that the Northern District of Illinois' website has information he may find useful on its webpage entitled "Information for People without Lawyers." The motion to proceed in forma pauperis #3 is entered and continued. Signed by the Honorable Iain D. Johnston on 9/20/2022: Mailed notice (yxp, )
