| Filing 20 MINUTE entry before the Honorable Rebecca R. Pallmeyer: Plaintiff Colleen Samen has asked the court to recruit counsel for her. Her submissions satisfy the court that her finances are limited. In assessing her request for recruited counsel, the court considers not only her finances, but the challenges presented for Plaintiff in pursuing the case on her own. This case is at an early stage, discovery has not yet commenced, and the issues are not overly complicated. More importantly, Ms. Samen herself has an advanced degree and has demonstrated considerable ability. She prepared a clear complaint on her own and submitted a well-reasoned legal memorandum on the propriety of removal of this case from state court. The court concludes that for now, Ms. Samen is capable of proceeding effectively on her own. The motion for attorney representation #18 #19 is denied without prejudice. Mailed notice. (cp, ) |
