ORDER TO SHOW CAUSE. In July, Plaintiff Jennifer Lueken filed a pro se civil-rights complaint against Defendant HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital, alleging "fraud, medical malpractice, negligence[, and] wrongful death." (ECF No. #2 ). The Complaint, however, only alleges violations of state common law--no "deprivation... of any right, privilege or immunity secured by the Constitution of the United States or by any Act of Congress." 28 U.S.C. 1343; see 42 U.S.C. 1983. The Court therefore ORDERS Lueken to SHOW CAUSE by October 1 as to why this case should not be dismissed for lack of subject-matter jurisdiction. Signed by Judge J. Phil Gilbert on 9/1/2020. (cab). | Filing 1 NOTICE OF INITIAL ASSIGNMENT TO A U.S. MAGISTRATE JUDGE: This case has been randomly assigned to United States Magistrate Judge Reona J. Daly pursuant to Administrative Order No. 257.
