Filing 5 ORDER TO SHOW CAUSE. Upon review of the pleadings in this action, it appears that the Southern District of Illinois is not an appropriate venue for further litigation; however, this Court does not have sufficient information to make that determination. According to 42 U.S.C. 2000e, Title VII claims may properly be brought in any judicial district in which: (1) the unlawful employment practice is alleged to have been committed; (2) the employment records relevant to such practice are maintained and administered, or (3) the aggrieved person would have worked but for the alleged unlawful employment practice. Rather than sua sponte transferring this action in its entirety pursuant to 28 U.S.C. 1404, the Court will allow Shirley to SHOW CAUSE in writing on or before August 4, 2021, why this action should not be transferred. Show Cause Response due by 8/4/2021. Signed by Judge Stephen P. McGlynn on 7/21/2021. (jce) THIS TEXT ENTRY IS AN ORDER OF THE COURT. NO FURTHER DOCUMENTATION WILL BE MAILED. |
