Filing 5 ORDER TO SHOW CAUSE: Plaintiff LaShunda L. Cooks filed a pro se civil-rights complaint against Defendant Jason Rich, alleging "knowfully [sic] and wrongful malpractice negligence" (Doc. #3 ). The Complaint, however, only alleges violations of state common law--no "deprivation... of any right, privilege or immunity secured by the Constitution of the United States or by any Act of Congress." 28 U.S.C. 1343; see 42 U.S.C. 1983. The Court therefore ORDERS Cooks to SHOW CAUSE on or before 8/8/2022 as to why this case should not be dismissed for lack of subject matter jurisdiction. Cooks is WARNED that failure to respond to this show cause order by the deadline shall result in dismissal of this action with prejudice for failure to comply with a court order and for failure to prosecute her claims.
