ORDER regarding the Motion for Stay of Civil Forfeiture (Doc. #4 ). This civil forfeiture action was filed by the United States on October 4, 2022. Now, the United States moves to stay the civil forfeiture action under 18 U.S.C. 981(g)(1), stating civil discovery in this action would adversely affect the ability of the United States to conduct a related criminal investigation. The United States requests that the stay last until the criminal investigation is concluded or all of the issues have been resolved through criminal forfeiture. Accordingly, the Court GRANTS the Motion for Stay of Civil Forfeiture and STAYS this action in its entirety. The United States shall file a status report in this action on or before April 5, 2023, unless events before that date (e.g., the conclusion of the criminal investigation referenced in the Motion for Stay of Civil Forfeiture) warrant an earlier report to the Court.
