Filing 16
ORDER DENYING #14 Motion for In Camera Review. Plaintiff Russell Allen Brown requests that the Court order Defendants to produce an unredacted copy of a certain piece of correspondence, and then to review that document in camera. But as this Court explained in its prior #13 order, motions to compel Defendants to produce documents are premature at this stage of the litigation. Defendants have not filed an answer or even been served. If and when this case proceeds to discovery, Brown will be able to seek "any nonprivileged matter that is relevant to any party's claim or defense and proportional to the needs of the case." Fed. R. Civ. P. 26(b)(1). Accordingly, Brown's motion is DENIED. Further, the Court notes it is likely to deny any similar motions Brown chooses to file before the beginning of discovery. See Fed. R. Civ. P. 37. The Court encourages Brown to review this Court's resources for pro se litigants, which can be found at: https://www.ilsd.uscourts.gov/representing-yourself-pro-se-litigant. Signed by Judge Nancy J. Rosenstengel on 5/29/2026. (kblo) THIS TEXT ENTRY IS AN ORDER OF THE COURT. NO FURTHER DOCUMENTATION WILL BE MAILED.
