ORDER: The court ordered plaintiff to show cause why the court should not recommend that the district judge dismiss this case for lack of subject matter jurisdiction--namely, because plaintiff did not adequately plead complete diversity of citizenship between the parties. (ECF 3.) Plaintiff has now responded to the order to show cause. (ECF 4.) After reviewing the response and proposed amended complaint, the court is satisfied that plaintiff has sufficiently alleged facts that the parties are completely diverse for subject matter jurisdiction purposes under 28 U.S.C. 1332. To the extent the response requests leave to amend the complaint, plaintiff is directed to Fed. R. Civ. P. 15(a)(1), which permits amendment as a matter of course (i.e., without leave of court).
