Petitioner's Petition for Habeas Relief (DN 1 ) is DISMISSED. The issuance of a limited certificate of appealability is GRANTED as to Petitioner's first ground, to allow Petitioner to appeal the issue of whether t he trial court's refusal to sever the two charged offenses had a "substantial and injurious effect or influence in determining the jury's verdict" under Lane, 474 U.S. at 449.
