NOTICE AND ORDER: The #1 Complaint against Hartford Life and Accident Insurance Company, filed by Plaintiff Jeannine Piazza alleges that this Court has diversity jurisdiction pursuant to 28 U.S.C. 1332. (R. Doc. 1, para. 2) While Plaintiff has properly pleaded the corporate citizenship of Hartford (by its place of incorporation and principal place of business in Connecticut) and has properly alleged that her damages exceed $75,000, exclusive of interest and costs (id.), Plaintiff has not properly alleged her own citizenship, which is determined by domicile, not residency. See Mas v. Perry, 489 F.2d 1396, 1399 (5th Cir. 1974). By no later than November 5, 2021, Plaintiff shall file a motion for leave to file a comprehensive amended complaint, that contains all of Plaintiff's allegations, as revised, supplemented, and/or amended, which adequately alleges her citizenship in order to establish that the Court has diversity jurisdiction over the case.
