Plaintiffs sued Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer alleging that her executive order that closed non-essential businesses and forbade travel to second homes and vacation properties violated the Takings Clause. Additionally, plaintiffs allege that the prohibition on gathering with people outside of a single household interfered with their right to associate with their friends, family and significant others.
