| Filing 19 MINUTE ORDER IN CHAMBERS of the Honorable Magistrate Judge Brenda Weksler on 2/8/2021. Before the Court is the parties' proposed discovery plan and scheduling order ("DPSO"). ECF No. #18 . The standard discovery period under the Local Rules is 180 days from the date the first defendant answers or appears. LR 26-1(b). When a proposed DPSO sets deadlines longer than those specified in LR 26-1(b), "the plan must state on its face 'SPECIAL SCHEDULING REVIEW REQUESTED.'" Plans requesting special scheduling review "must include... a statement of the reasons why longer or different time periods should apply to the case." LR 26-1(a).Here, the parties seek a 14-month discovery period but their plan does not request special scheduling review or provide an explanation for why a longer discovery period should apply in this case. IT IS THEREFORE ORDERED that the parties' proposed DPSO (ECF No. #18 ) is DENIED. A new proposed DPSO is due 2/16/2021. Further, the parties are instructed that the Local Rules no longer require an interim status report, so they must omit this deadline from their upcoming proposed DPSO.
