| Filing 4 MINUTE ORDER IN CHAMBERS of the Honorable Judge Gloria M. Navarro on 3/3/2021. Before the Court is the Petition for Removal, (ECF No. #1 ). The Petition explains that removal is proper because the Court would have original jurisdiction over the case pursuant to diversity subject matter jurisdiction. (Pet. Removal 2:11-22). However, the removing Defendant, Chicago Title Insurance, alleges that a co-defendant, Chicago Title Agency, is a citizen of Nevada. (Id.). Under 28 U.S.C. 1441(b), removal to federal court is improper "if any of the parties in interest properly joined and served as defendants is a citizen of the State in which such action is brought." Accordingly, IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that, by March 17, 2021, Defendants shall show cause in writing why the Court retains diversity jurisdiction over the case despite Chicago Title Agency's Nevada citizenship.
