ORDER - IT IS THEREFORE ORDERED that the Clerk of Court detach and file Reed's petition for a writ of habeas corpus (ECF #1 -1) and motion for appointment of counsel (ECF No. #1 -2). IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that the Clerk add Aaron D. Ford, Nevada Attorney General, as counsel for respondents and provide respondents an electronic copy of all items previously filed in this case by regenerating the Notice of Electronic Filing to the office of the AG only. (AG added to docket. NEF for ECF Nos. 1-5 to be regenerated to AG.) IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that Reed's motion for appointment of counsel is GRANTED. IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that the Federal Public Defender for the District of Nevada (FPD) is appointed to represent Reed. IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that the Clerk ELECTRONICALLY SERVE the FPD a copy of this order, together with a copy of the petition for writ of habeas corpus (ECF Nos. #1 -1). (FPD added to docket for service.) The FPD has 30 days from the date of entry of this order to file a notice of appearance or to indicate to the court its inability to represent Reed in these proceedings (3/13/2023). IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that after counsel has appeared for Reed in this case, the court will issue a scheduling order, which will, among other things, set a deadline for the filing of an amended petition. ORDER - Initial screening of Petitioner Jamarr Reed's petition for writ of habeas corpus (ECF No. #1 -1) is deferred to until such time as he has fully complied with this order. Within 45 days of the date of this order, Reed must file an IFP application that includes a: (a) financial certificate signed by Reed and an authorized prison official, (b) financial declaration and acknowledgement signed by Reed, and (c) copy of Reed's inmate account statement for the six-month period prior to filing.
