Filing 8 MINUTE ORDER IN CHAMBERS of the Honorable Chief Judge Miranda M. Du on 6/21/2022. The Court dismissed this action on May 6, 2022, because Jones had not filed a petition for writ of habeas corpus on the Court's approved forms, as is required under Local Special Rule 3-1. (ECF No. #3 .) No further motions may be filed in this closed case. The Court will therefore deny Jones' emergency motions (ECF Nos. #5 , #6 ). If Jones wishes to pursue a new cause of action, he must file a new case; however, the Court notes again that Jones previously brought a habeas action in this Court challenging his confinement which was unsuccessful. As explained in the order dismissing this action, when a petitioner has previously filed an application for habeas relief under 28 U.S.C. 2244 that was denied on the merits, the Court may not be able to grant relief. If Jones decides to initiate a new habeas action, he is directed to refer to the Court's order dismissing this action (ECF No. #3 ) before pursuing his new claims.
