May 26, 2011 Opinion or Order Filing 10 MEMORANDUM AND ORDER: Plaintiff's claims against the two John Doe defendants may proceed. The Clerk of Court is respectfully directed to mail a copy of this Order and the Complaint to the New York City Law Department. Once Corporation Cou nsel has provided the requested information for the John Doe defendants, the Clerk of Court is directed to amend the caption to reflect that information. The Clerk is further directed to issue summonses to those defendants, and the United States Mars hals Service is directed to serve copies of the complaint as amended by the Clerk, this order, and the summonses on these defendants. The Court respectfully refers this matter to the Honorable Roanne L. Mann, United States Magistrate Judge, for pretr ial supervision. The Court certifies pursuant to 28 U.S.C. § 1915(a)(3) that any appeal would not be taken in good faith and therefore in forma pauperis status is denied for purpose of an appeal. SO ORDERED. March 1, 2011 Opinion or Order Filing 9 MEMORANDUM AND ORDER: As plaintiff has not alleged any facts or arguments sufficient to warrant relief from the Court's 1/31/2011 Order 6 dismissing the City of New York as a defendant, the 2/7/2011 motion to 7 reconsider that Order i s denied. Plaintiff is 8 granted an additional 60 days to amend his complaint to provide additional identifying information about the John Doe defendants. The Court certifies pursuant to 28 U.S.C. § 1915(a)(3) that any appeal from this Order would not be taken in good faith, and therefore in forma pauperis status is denied for purpose of an appeal. January 31, 2011 Opinion or Order Filing 6 MEMORANDUM AND ORDER: Plaintiff's 2 request to proceed in forma pauperis is granted. The City of New York is dismissed as a defendant. Plaintiff is directed to file an amended complaint that more clearly identifies the individua l defendants who he believes are responsible for depriving him of his constitutional rights. The amended complaint should be filed within 30 days of the date of this order. No summons shall issue at this time, and all further proceedings shall be sta yed for 30 days. The Court certifies pursuant to 28 U.S.C. § 1915(a)(3) that any appeal from this Order would not be taken in good faith and therefore in forma pauperis status is denied for the purpose of any appeal.
