The Attorney General of the State of New York or the District Attorney of Kings County, as attorneys for respondent, shall show cause before the Court by filing a return to the petition on or before 12/19/22 why a writ of habeas corpus should not be issued. Respondent shall also (i) serve a copy of the answer and the state court record on petitioner and (ii) file proof of service of both the answer and the state court record as a separate filing. Petitioner shall file a reply, if any, with the Clerk of the Court on or before 1/19/22, and serve a copy on respondent. All communications with the Court must be served on the opposing party.
