Case discussed. This is personal injury case resulting from a motor vehicle accident on the Long Island Expressway. Plaintiff allegedly suffered soft-tissue injuries to her neck and lower back. The Court entered the following pretrial schedule: parties to exchange automatic disclosures by 11/29/2022; no amendment of the pleadings or joinder of additional parties permitted after 2/28/2023; and parties to complete fact discovery by 7/8/2023. The Court will enter an expert discovery schedule near the end of fact discovery. Parties are open to participating in a mediation after engaging in some fact discovery.Parties to submit a joint status report by 2/8/2023 and to notify the Court whether they would like a referral to Court-annexed mediation or a settlement conference at that time.
