July 6, 2023 Opinion or Order ORDER: On 5/26/2023, the Clerk of Court notified petitioner that he had neither paid a filing fee or filed for in forma pauperis status, and directed petitioner to cure the defect within 14 days. See Notice of Deficient Filing (Dkt. #2). Petitioner has not done so. For an action to proceed, the petitioner must either seek in forma pauperis status or pay the filing fee. See 28 U.S.C. 1914 & 1915; E.D.N.Y. Local Civil Rule 1.7(a) (requiring prepayment of fees). Accordingly, petitioner must either file an application to proceed in forma pauperis or pay the fee by 8/7/2023. Otherwise, his action will be dismissed without prejudice. The Court respectfully directs the Clerk of Court to send petitioner an application to proceed in forma pauperis along with this Order. Ordered by Judge Rachel P. Kovner on 7/6/2023.
