MINUTE ENTRY AND ORDER: A telephonic pre-motion conference was held before Judge Rachel P. Kovner on 8/21/2023. Robert Rickner and Ashley Pileika appeared on behalf of plaintiffs. Sanford Talkin appeared on behalf of defendant The Congregation of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary; Domenique Moran and Jana Schwartz appeared on behalf of defendant Diocese of Fall River; Timothy Doherty appeared on behalf of defendant Sisters of Charity of Montreal; Andrew Lankler appeared on behalf of Sisters of Charity of Quebec; and Sara Thompson appeared on behalf of defendant Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate Eastern Province. The Court and parties discussed ways to avoid duplicative motions to dismiss. The parties agreed that the Diocese of Fall River will file its anticipated motion to dismiss and supporting brief first. The remaining defendants will then closely review that brief and incorporate by reference any overlapping arguments in their respective briefs. The Court set the following briefing schedule: Per the Courts bundling rule, defendant Diocese of Fall River shall serve, but not file, its motion to dismiss by 9/21/2023. The remaining defendants shall serve their respective motions to dismiss by 10/5/2023. Plaintiffs shall serve their responses to the motions by 11/13/2023. Defendants may serve replies, if any, by 12/4/2023. The parties shall file all documents associated with the fully briefed motions on ECF by 12/4/2023. Ordered by Judge Rachel P. Kovner on 8/22/2023.
