Minute Entry for Initial Conference proceedings held on 9/28/2023 before Magistrate Judge James R. Cho. Appearances by counsel for all parties. This is an insurance coverage declaratory judgment action with a pending state court action. The Court entered the following pretrial schedule: parties to exchange automatic disclosures by 10/27/2023; no amendment of the pleadings or joinder of additional parties permitted after 1/31/2024 without good cause; and parties to complete fact discovery by 3/27/2024. Parties do not expect to retain experts. Near the end of fact discovery, the Court will enter a deadline for commencing dispositive motion practice. Parties to submit a joint status report by 12/18/2023 and to notify the Court whether they would like a referral to Court-annexed mediation or a settlement conference at that time.
