SCHEDULING ORDER: A Telephonic Default Conference is scheduled for 12/7/2023 at 3:00 PM before Magistrate Judge Vera M. Scanlon. The parties are to call 877-336-1829 and dial the access code 3581283 for the AT&T conference bridge. Plaintiffs' counsel must attend. Although Irina Zayonts and Yuriy Zayonts ("Non-Appearing Defendants") have not appeared in this case, they may appear at the conference. The Corporate Defendant must be represented by a lawyer; the Individual Defendants may represent themselves pro se or may be represented by a lawyer.The parties should be prepared to discuss the requests for a certificate of default at ECF Nos. #14 and #15 . Plaintiffs should refrain from filing any motion for default judgment prior to the conference. Plaintiffs assert, inter alia, insurance fraud claims against Defendants and seek hundreds of thousands of dollars in damages. Plaintiffs have represented that Non-Appearing Defendants have been served with the Complaint, which is the document that states Plaintiffs' claims against Defendants. See ECF No. #1 . Because Non-Appearing Defendants have not responded to this lawsuit by answering the Complaint or moving to dismiss it, the Court may award hundreds of thousands of dollars in damages against Non-Appearing Defendants and in favor of Plaintiffs should Plaintiffs move for a default judgment, for which Non-Appearing Defendants would be liable.
