| MINUTE ENTRY for pre-motion conference held before Judge Margo K. Brodie. Erica Carvajal appeared on behalf of plaintiffs; Jonathan Cader appeared on behalf of defendant. The Court imposed a $250 sanction against plaintiffs' counsel for failing to appear, failing to notify the Court that he would not appear, and sending a colleague who is unfamiliar with this case to appear before the Court thirty minutes after the pre-motion conference was scheduled to begin. The sanctioned amount represents the defense counsel's fee for the thirty minutes wait-time. The Court informed the parties that the Complaint does not appear to state a claim for which relief may be granted and ordered plaintiffs to show cause why this case should not be dismissed for failure to state a claim. In addition, the Court directed the parties to agree on a proposed date for oral arguments on defendant's motion to dismiss and to submit any additional facts or law that they wish the Court to consider on or before August 23, 2019.
