March 26, 2021 Minute Entry for proceedings held before Judge Kiyo A. Matsumoto: Pre Motion Conference held by telephone on 3/26/2021. Appearance for Plaintiff: Harold Greenwald, Esq. Appearance for Defendant: J. Daniel Velez, Esq. The court advised Mr. Greenwald, who stated that he was not aware of the conference, to be aware of court orders issued via ECF, and to appear on time for conferences with the court.The court held a pre-motion conference in response to Plaintiff's request to file a motion to remand the case to state court. The parties agreed to hold motion practice in abeyance so that settlement discussions can be conducted. Plaintiff shall provide Defendant with a good faith settlement demand, and Defendant shall provide Plaintiff with a good faith settlement offer. The parties are referred to Magistrate Judge Shields for a settlement conference. The parties shall request a settlement conference by filing a joint letter directed to Judge Shields, and shall follow Judge Shields's individual practices regarding the conference.By one week after a settlement conference is held, the parties shall advise the undersigned how they intend to proceed in this matter, by joint letter filed to ECF.
