ORDER TO SHOW CAUSE: To assist the Court in its review of standing in this action, parties are directed to respond via letter no more than 7 pages filed on ECF within 10 days of the date of this order, as follows: 1. Does plaintiff claim any concrete, particularized injury in fact from the statutory violations alleged herein? If so, please set forth such injury/injuries with particularity. 2. If plaintiff is not claiming any such concrete injury, in light of the Supreme Court's decision in Transunion LLC v. Ramirez, Slip Op. No. 20-297, 2021 WL 2599472 (U.S. June 25, 2021), counsel shall provide any authority or basis for plaintiff to assert standing in this action, or indicate whether the action should be dismissed.Ordered by Judge Joan M. Filing 6 INITIAL CONFERENCE SCHEDULING ORDER: An Initial Conference will be held at 10:00 AM on August 2, 2022 before Magistrate Judge James M. Wicks via video Zoom. All counsel must attend. Counsel are directed to complete the attached Discovery Plan Worksheet and electronically file same with the Court no later than July 28, 2022. Because this is an FDCPA case, each individual client and/or a principal with full settlement authority for a corporation or other business entity must personally appear with counsel at this Initial Conference. Upon failure to appear at the conference with authorized clients, the Court will entertain an application for fees and costs by the opposing side. Parties are to submit their respective settlement positions ex parte to Chamber's email no later than July 28, 2022. The parties shall comply with Judge Wicks' Individual Practice Rules regarding settlement Conferences (Rules 5). The Court will email the Zoom invitation closer to the conference date. THE PARTIES ARE REMINDED that audio or video recording of proceedings by any party other than the Court is strictly prohibited by Local Civil Rule 1.8. Violation of this rule may result in sanctions, including removal of court issued media credentials, restricted entry to future hearings, denial of entry to future hearings, or any other sanctions deemed appropriate by the Court.
