October 14, 2022 Opinion or Order ELECTRONIC SCHEDULING ORDER: Magistrate Judge Lee G. Dunst will hold the initial conference on 11/17/2022 at 11:45 AM in Courtroom 830 of the U.S. District Court E.D.N.Y. Long Island Courthouse, located at 100 Federal Plaza, Central Islip, New York. The parties are directed to follow Judge Dunst's Individual Practice Rules, which are available on the Court's website, and submit a proposed discovery plan/scheduling order at least five business days before the initial conference pursuant to Judge Dunst's Individual Practice Rule IV.A.1. The Court encourages Plaintiff to consult with the Hofstra Law Pro Se Clinic in the E.D.N.Y. Long Island courthouse. The Clinic can provide free information, advice, and limited scope legal assistance to non-incarcerated pro se (i.e., self-represented) litigants. The Court notes that the Pro Se Clinic is not part of, or affiliated with, the United States District Court. The Clinic offers services such as: providing brief legal counseling; explaining federal court rules and procedures; and reviewing and editing draft pleadings and correspondence with the Court. Additionally, the Clinic may provide aid during the discovery process and, in appropriate circumstances, representation at depositions or in the settlement process. Consultations with the Pro Se Clinic can be conducted remotely via telephone. To schedule an appointment with the Pro Se Clinic, Plaintiff should email PSLAP@Hofstra.edu or leave a message at (631) 297-2575. The Court further encourages Plaintiff to consult with the E.D.N.Y. Pro Se Office, which can provide docket information, forms, and other guidance to pro se litigants. The Pro Se Office is in the E.D.N.Y. Long Island courthouse and may be contacted at (631) 712-6060. The Court informs Plaintiff that she may sign up to receive electronic notifications of filings via email. The Pro Se Office (and/or the Clinic) should be able to assist with that process.Defense counsel shall serve a copy of this Order upon Plaintiff and file proof of service by 10/19/2022.
