ORDER. Pursuant to the Court's August 20, 2024 Order, Plaintiff had until September 4, 2024, to file the "Application to Proceed in District Court without Prepaying Fees or Costs (Long Form)" (AO 239) ("Long Form") or pay the $405.00 filing fee in order for this case to proceed. To date, Plaintiff has failed to file the Long Form or pay the filing fee. Due to Plaintiff's pro se status, the Court will permit Plaintiff to file the Long Form or pay the filing fee by September 24, 2024. Failure to timely comply with this order, absent a showing of good cause, will lead to the dismissal of the Complaint without prejudice, and judgment will enter without further notice.The Clerk of Court is respectfully directed to mail a copy of this Order to Plaintiff at the address of record and to record such mailing on the docket.Ordered by Judge Nusrat J. Filing 4 ORDER. For the reasons stated in the attached Order, the application to proceed in forma pauperis (ECF No. #2 ) is denied without prejudice and with leave to renew upon filing the enclosed "Application to Proceed in District Court without Prepaying Fees or Costs (Long Form)" (AO 239) ("Long Form"). Alternatively, Plaintiff may pay the $405.00 filing fee within fourteen (14) days in order for this case to proceed. The Court encourages Plaintiff to reach out to the Hofstra Law Pro Se Clinic located in the Central Islip Courthouse, which can provide free information, advice, and limited scope legal assistance to non-incarcerated pro se litigants. The Court notes that the Pro Se Clinic is not part of, nor affiliated with, the United States District Court. The Clinic offers services such as: providing brief legal counseling; explaining federal court rules and procedures; and reviewing and editing draft pleadings and correspondence with the Court. Additionally, the Clinic may aid you during the discovery process, and, in appropriate circumstances, may represent you at deposition or in the settlement process. Consultations with the Pro Se Clinic can be conducted remotely via telephone.
