Unilever Supply Chain, Inc. v. Koolpets Products, Inc. et al
Unilever, holder of the Popsicle trademark, sued Koolpets, a Canadian company that makes Bonesicle frozen pet treats for dogs, claiming that only Unilever can use the word 'Sicle' in any of its products.
According to the complaint alleging trademark infringement (See below, Document #1), Unilever filed a trademark application for the term "Sicle" on April 20, 2011, nearly two months after Koolpets filed a U.S. trademark application for the term "Bonesicle" to describe its pet food product.
