Iraqi Refugee Assistance Project v. Department of Defense et al
A Freedom of Information Act ('FOIA') lawsuit filed by the Iraqi Refugee Assistance Project alleging that the U.S. Departments of Defense and State failed to make available, respond to, expedite, and limit fees for plaintiff's request for records concerning "human trafficking and/or labor abuses of TCNs [('Third Country Nationals') working] on U.S. military bases in Iraq and Afghanistan since January 2006." A report from Congress estimates that out of 90,000 Defense Department contractors, approximately 24,000 are TCNs .
