August 7, 2019	Filing 22 OPINION & ORDER: Petitioner Tasheem Morris, proceeding pro se, petitions for a writ of habeas corpus challenging his New York state convictions for murder in the second degree (N.Y. Penal Law § 125.21(1)) and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree (N.Y. Penal Law § 265.03(1)(b) and § 265.03(3)). Petitioner argues that the trial court's erroneous admission of a hearsay statement made by the decedent was not harmless, and, alternatively, that hi s sentence should be reduced. For the reasons set forth below, the petition is denied. For the foregoing reasons, the Court denies the petition for a writ of habeas corpus. As the Petition makes no substantial showing of a denial of a constitution al right, a certificate of appealability will not issue. 28 U.S.C. § 2253(c)(2).
