ENDORSED LETTER: addressed to Judge Valerie E. Caproni from Juyeon (Clara) Oh dated 8/6/2019 re: Defendant writes on behalf of herself and the other defendants in this case. I and the other two individually named defendants, my sister and my mother, are currently or have been owners of the cooperate defendant. We would like to request an extension of time to respond to the Complaint. ENDORSEMENT: The Court informs Defendant Oh that because she is not a licensed attorney admitted to practice in this Court, she can only represent herself pro se; she is not allowed to represent other people, including her fellow individual Defendants or VIP Nail Salon Inc. The Court therefore treats this request as a request by Defendant Oh on her behalf only. Nonetheless, to avoid having to extend the different Defendants' time to answer individually, the Court sua sponte extends each Defendant's deadline to answer or otherwise respond to the Complaint to September 6, 2019. The Court encourages Defendants to retain legal counsel as soon as possible. In the meantime, the individual Defendants are directed to review the undersigned's Individual Practices in Civil Pro Se Cases, also available on the Court's website. They are also directed to familiarize themselves with the website of the Southern District's Pro Se Intake Unit (http://www.nysd.uscourts.gov/prose?%20office), to which they must submit any documents they file in this Court pro se, and the website of the New York Legal Assistance Group's Legal Assistance Clinic (http://www.nysd.uscourts.gov/prose?clinic), which may be able to assist them with. Except with permission of this Court, the individual Defendants must refrain from serving papers directly on Plaintiff or other parties. Plaintiff's counsel is ORDERED to serve a copy of this order on each Defendant and post proof of service on ECF.
