December 6, 2019 Opinion or Order Filing 11 MEDIATION REFERRAL ORDER FOR CASES FILED UNDER THE FAIR LABOR STANDARDS ACT 29 U.S.C. Sec. 201 et seq. This case, involving claims under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), 29 U.S.C. Sec. 201 et seq., has been assigned to this Court for all purposes. In the Courts experience, cases involving FLSA claims often benefit from early mediation. To that end, prior to a Rule 16(b) case management conference the Court is referring this case to the Mediation Office for settlement purposes under Local Civil Rule 83.9. November 27, 2019 Opinion or Order Filing 10 STIPULATION AND ORDER EXTENDING TIME TO ANSWER: IT IS HEREBY STIPULATED AND AGREED, by and between the Parties in the above captioned action, acting by means of their respective counsel, that the time for Defendants to answer, move or otherwise respond with respect to the Complaint in the above captioned matter is hereby extended to 30 days from the date this Stipulation is so ordered by the Court. There has been no previous request for an extension of time. Defendants reserve all defenses to this action. GRANTED. It is hereby ORDERED that by December 27, 2019, Defendants shall answer or otherwise respondto the complaint. The parties are reminded, however, that all requests for extensions of time must be made by a letter motion stating, inter alia, "(l) the original date(s); (2) the reason for the request; (3) the number of previous requests for adjournment or extension; (4) whether these previous requests were granted or denied; and (5) whether the adversa1y consents and, if not, the reasons given by the adversary for refusing to consent."
