ORDER granting in part and denying in part #6 Letter Motion for Extension of Time to Answer re #6 MOTION for Extension of Time to File Answer re: #1 Complaint., #1 Complaint. Defendant's time to respond to the complaint is extended through and until November 1, 2022. Second Circuit law dictates that a layperson may not legally represent a corporation. Pridgen v. Andresen, 113 F.3d 391, 393 (2d Cir. 1997). For this reason, Defendant's motion to dismiss is DENIED without prejudice. Defendant may renew the motion to dismiss through a proper motion once Defendant retains counsel. However, I encourage the parties to meet and confer to determine whether this case can be resolved in light of Ms. Dubois's filing. SO ORDERED.. (Signed by Judge Vernon S.
