The Court ordered plaintiff to "file either (a) a memorandum setting forth his basis for an assertion of venue in this District, or (b) a motion to transfer this action to another District, on or before March 31, 2020." Doc. #8. No response to this Order has been filed. Plaintiff is therefore ORDERED to show cause why this matter should not be dismissed. Plaintiff has filed an appeal of a final decision of the Social Security Administration. 42 U.S.C. 405(g) provides that such an appeal "shall be brought in the district court of the United States for the judicial district in which the plaintiff resides, or has his principal place of business, or, if he does not reside or have his principal place of business within any such judicial district, in the United States District Court for the District of Columbia." Plaintiff's Motion for Leave to Proceed in forma pauperis and his Complaint assert that he currently resides in Bronx, New York. See Doc. #1 at 1; Doc. #3 at 1. It appears that venue may not properly lie in the District of Connecticut. See, e.g., Orr v. Comm'r of Soc. Sec., No. 19CV04926(LLS), 2019 WL 2343143, at *2 (S.D.N.Y. May 31, 2019); Rosario v. Colvin, No. 13CV05573(NGG), 2015 WL 3862683, at *5 n.1 (E.D.N.Y. June 22, 2015). Plaintiff shall file either (a) a memorandum setting forth his basis for an assertion of venue in this District, or (b) a motion to transfer this action to another District, on or before March 31, 2020.
