December 15, 2016 Opinion or Order Filing 25 ORDER finding as moot #19 Motion for Joinder. Corrected motion [Docket No. 22] denied by separate order [Docket No. 24]. Signed by Magistrate Judge Barbara D. Holmes on 12/15/2016. (Holmes, Barbara)
December 15, 2016 Opinion or Order Filing 24 ORDER denying #22 Motion for Joinder. It is not clear to the Court from the parties' motion why there is a need to extend the deadline for motions to amend, because the supporting memorandum [Docket No. 23] refers to the prospect that expert witnesses might be unnecessary following receipt of further information obtained about Plaintiff's medical expense, but does not address any specific amendments that might be necessary as a result of that information. Additionally, the Court is concerned that the requested extended deadline does not allow sufficient time in advance of the dispositive motion deadline, particularly when considering the time for response to and disposition of any motion to amend. For all of these reasons, the motion is DENIED, but with leave for the parties to refile another motion that clarifies the requested relief and more carefully considers and addresses whether any requested extension will still accommodate the dispositive motion deadline. Signed by Magistrate Judge Barbara D. Holmes on 12/15/2016. (Holmes, Barbara)
